Childbirth Classes & Birth Doula SupportWeekend Guide to Childbirth
Taught by Steph Bour, our weekend childbirth class is the first 4 weeks of our Guide to Childbirth condensed into 2 weekend days, 4.5 hours each day with a 1 hour break for lunch. Together with your birthing partner, learn about the process leading up to and throughout labor and birth. Get to know other expectant parents; use this class as a starting point for you to build community as you begin this journey into parenthood.
Comfort Measures Class
Our weekday evening childbirth comfort measures class here at Third Coast Birth & Baby focuses on coping with the intensity of labor through both medical and non-medical pain relief measures. We’ll cover positions for labor, techniques and tools you can use to enhance comfort, and the medications available for pain relief during labor.
Strengthen your birth support team! Together with your birthing partner, find out what to expect leading up to and throughout your labor and birth, as well as gain practical knowledge and discuss realistic expectations that will guide you through the early days with your new baby. Get an unbiased, straightforward perspective, and ample time to get your questions answered. Get to know other soon-to-be parents – use this class as a starting point for you to build community as you begin this longest shortest journey through parenthood.
This is a 6 week series that meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm.
Infertility 101
If you are struggling to conceive, feeling weighed down by pregnancy announcements in your social circles and/or unsure of what the next step is on your journey to parenthood, this four week series is for you. Join us for one session, or all four, where we’ll have honest and candid conversations about infertility, professionals you may work with, minimally invasive fertility treatments and the ins-and-outs of in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Join others who can relate to your experiences and find a safe space to make connections, ask questions & garner resources to help you along the way.
This class is led by Amanda Osowski, infertility and postpartum doula, as well as an experienced mom of an IVF Success Story. After an incredibly emotional journey with many ups and downs including failed IUIs and a failed IVF transfer, Amanda has the tools, resources and empathy to help you navigate your own journey to fertility.
Upcoming class dates TBD.
Birth Doula Support
Through our specialized model of care clients have access to a perfect combination of individualized support as well as community support and education. We offer both virtual and in-person packages ranging in cost from $200 – $1500.
Our monthly groups – lovingly dubbed 123 Baby! – aim to provide education in an environment that removes fear and facilitates community building among families. Each meeting includes a presentation or discussion on a topic relevant to late pregnancy, birth, or the early weeks and months after baby is born. After the discussion, families will have time to connect with another over tea and snacks.
Our monthly meetings provide a wonderful opportunity to learn from our experienced team of doulas and build community so that as your birth approaches you feel confident and calm.
